Working Girl

Hello my beautiful people,

How are your holiday preparations coming along?  I apologize for my disappearance. All due to a good reason though, the cold suddenly creeped up without notice. Since I missed you so much, I decided to brave the cold for photos.

Good Morning Beauties and Gent,

This is my first fall post. Fall is finally here. The leaves are changing colors and the days are getting chilly. All signs that winter is fast approaching.

Polka Peplum Dress

Happy Friday Beauties and Gents,

I warned you that I have a thing for polka dots. I was quite excited when I found this dress. A few years back, I was devastated when a polka dot dress that I owned no longer fit.  Little did I know that I would run into this one.

Canadian Tux

Hello Beauties and Gents,

I hope you all had a great day. I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad, but today was the last day of summer. Fall actually begins tomorrow.  Double denim is a great transitional piece for the fall. For extra warmth put a faux fur vest or an oversized coat over it.

I ablsolutely love this H&M denim shirt that I purchased three summers ago. it's in frequent rotation in my closet since I wear it all the time. I wore it here & here. You can dress a denin shirt up or down. I'm yet to see double denim done bad. It never gets old. This time around I decided to pair it with my flowered denim skirt and pearl chocker. What do you think of this combo

Peace & Love,

Ifeoma

Happy Wednesday

It’s Wednesday darlings,

Can you believe it’s already the middle of the week.  Last week I was excited about the beautiful weather. Guess what? It’s freezing again today. Well, it was the perfect opportunity to pull out my stirrups again before I finally pack it away.

Because Am Happy!!!

Necklace: Forever 21 Bag: Coach Willis Shoes: Ivanka Trump Ariel Sandals  Earrings: St. John

Happy Monday Everyone,

I am so happy because spring is here and it’s finally sandal weather. Yesterday was so sunny. This week is supposed to be so beautiful .  Finally, good weather. Too bad I can’t use bad weather as an excuse not to put up my personal style posts anymore. LOL!!!  Well, I get to put away all my hosiery pretty soon, which sucks because I just purchased these sheer luxe stirrups from American Apparel. SJP  wore the same pair with a dress while promoting her new shoe line in Dallas and I loved the whole look and was immediately inspired.

I decided to pair it with my print button up shirt and pencil skirt. Both are by Mossimo via my local Buffalo Exchange. I know its matchy matchy but, I think this actually works.  I’m not really into shopping at Target for clothes because of the quality but I will have to start peeking into the women’s department every now and then for fast fashion.  Quality aside,  it would be a great place to buy trendy pieces that you may not want to spend so much on.  Spend your money on well made classic pieces you can wear over and over again regardless of trend.

Before, I pack the stirrups away for the summer, I will have to try and wear them again one last time.

Hope you’re Monday is not a drag.

Peace & Love,

Ifeoma

The style of An African City

I recently stumbled on the web series, An African City on You tube last weekend. An African City is created by Nicole Amarteifio, who wanted to show that African women can be beautiful, trendy and modern rather than just the face for an anti-poverty campaign. As, I watched the web episodes, I  couldn't help but think that it reminded me so much of Sex and the City.  It  follows five girlfriends; Nana Yaa,  Sade, Ngozi, Makena and Zainab, who previously lived and educated abroad and are current returnees to Accra, Ghana as they navigate cultural norms, career and romance.

M2Malletier Amor Fati leather shoulder bag

I just love this mint green M2Malletier Amor Fati Shoulder bag with gold hardware.  Perfect for the spring! Doesn't the color remind you of candy? M2Mallitier bags are recognized by their signature "needle handle" inspired by medivial armor and medical instruments.  This bag is very sleek, structured and sophisticated.

I have never been a fan of overdecorated bags and prefer simple, yet functional handbags which makes this bag very up my alley. The bag can serve as a clutch when the shoulder straps are removed. This bag is a great investment because it can be worn a lot of ways. I can see this paired with a lady like dress or with skinny jeans.   This bag retails for $1,880.  You can buy here or here

Fashion in Film: Blue Jamsine

I was so excited about Blue Jamsine because I love Woody Allen flicks. Blue Jasmine is brillant and is relevant to our times.

Top Three Oscar Gowns

Here are my top three looks from the 86th Annual OSCAR Red Carpet.  Lupita Nyong'o looked every bit a winner in the pale blue prada grecian style gown. Camilla Alves looked regal in her pale pink structured Gabriela Cadena custom dress while Cate Blanchett looked prim and proper in her Armani Prive gown. Who were your faves on the Red Carpet?

Peace & Love,

Ifeoma

Winter Blues

Hello Beautiful People,

I missed you all. I had some business to handle but I am back. This year's winter was so cold and snowy. It's still freezing outside but I decided to un-hibernate myself and take a few pictures. Look at me trying to look all cute, Lol. I know it is a bit impractical to wear such shoes with all the snow lol, lets save the winter boots for another post.

Most Memorable Oscar Gowns

The Oscars will take place Sunday so, I decided to share with you some of Cher's most memorable looks for the Oscars designed by costume designer Bob Mackie. Kudos to Cher for being a fashion rebel and wearing these statement dresses to the stuffy event. Mackie designed Cher's costumes for the Sony and Cher Comedy Hour in the 70's. He recently reunited with her to design costumes for her farewell tour last year.  What do you think will be the big trend at the Oscars?

Peace and Love,

Ifeoma

Ulyana Sergeenko Couture SS14

For all who may not be familiar with the designer. Ulyana became a darling of the StreetStyle world a few years back and launched her Couture Collection not too shortly after. I love her take on fashion which is very old world meets modern femininity. Her signature style is the voluminous long skirt
and I have no doubt that she is the reason why that silhouette for skirts made a major fashion comeback
this season.  Here are my top looks from Ulyana's Couture Collection for Spring Summer 2014. I love the look of the slim pants peeking out of the dresses. Head to Style for more looks from the collection.
